FAFSA/ CADAA & CAL GRANT GPA
Cal Grant awards are state funded monetary grants given to students to help pay for college expenses. The requirements vary and the awards do not have to be paid back. You apply for all Cal Grants by completing the Free Application for Federal Student aid (FAFSA ) or the California Dream Act (CADAA) and having your school provide a GPA Verification to the California Student Aide Commission (CSAC). Morro Bay High School submits the GPA Verification electronically for ALL seniors by the October 1 deadline. Selection is based on financial need, academic performance, and other factors. In addition to applying for a Cal Grant you must meet the March 2nd FAFSA/ CADAA deadline.
In order to be considered for a Cal Grant, California public high schools and charter schools are required to submit a high school Grade Point Average (GPA) to the California Student Aid Commission by October 1, for all graduating seniors, unless the student or parent has opted out (California Education Code section 69432.9). Students who do not opt out will have their GPA submitted to the Commission to be considered for a Cal Grant award.

ARMY ROTC scholarships recipients are awarded either full tuition and fees (in or out of state) or $10,000 per year in room and board costs. They also include $1,200 per year in books and a $420 per month stipend. More here!

Navy ROTC scholarships recipients are selected through a highly competitive national selection process, and receive full tuition, books stipend, educational fees and other financial benefits at many of the country's leading colleges and universities. Upon graduation, midshipmen are commissioned as officers in the unrestricted line Naval Reserve or Marine Corps Reserve. More here!
Marine ROTC scholarships The purpose of the Marine Option NROTC program is to educate and train highly qualified young men and women for careers as commissioned officers in the United States Marine Corps. The Marine Option NROTC units are located at selected colleges and universities throughout the United States. Upon graduation and successful completion of required courses and training, a midshipman is appointed a second lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps.
