Description: French I P is an introductory course to the French language and culture. The emphasis will be given to communicative activities focusing on listening and speaking skills. The student will gain an appreciation of French culture through readings, media, speakers, and geography. Formative skills in reading and writing will also be introduced.

Course Description:	French II P is an extension of first year French. Students will develop intermediate communicative skills focusing on listening and speaking activities. The student will expand upon the basic reading and writing level acquired in French I P. Students will be introduced to intermediate grammatical concepts and verb tenses in the areas of speaking, listening comprehension, reading, and writing. Additional cultural capsules will be taught.

Description: Spanish I is a college preparatory, introductory course to the Spanish language and Hispanic culture. The emphasis will be given to activities focusing on essential language skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing). The goal is to develop fluency and comprehension of the Spanish language. The student will gain an appreciation of Hispanic culture through readings, media, speakers, and geography. Formative skills in reading and writing will also be introduced.

Description: This is a course designed for students continuing with their second academic year of college preparatory Spanish. Students will continue to develop all four language skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing). The goal is to increase fluency and comprehension of the Spanish language. Students will be introduced to numerous, advanced grammatical concepts and vocabulary. Instruction will include insights into cultures and traditions of Spanish speaking persons.

Course Description:	This course is designed for native Spanish Speakers. It is designed for students demonstrating an interest and desire to pursue the study of Spanish at an accelerated pace. Students develop an appreciation for oral and written communication to include interpretive, interpersonal, and presentational. Course curriculum focuses on audio, visual, and written sources. Students will focus on a review and discussion around ideas and societal problems. Students will develop strategies associated with written communication in Spanish while also increasing their knowledge of the Spanish-speaking world and its cultures.

Heritage Spanish 2

Course Description:	It is designed for native Spanish speakers who have successfully completed Heritage Spanish 1 or the equivalent. Course curriculum focuses on Spanish language and culture with an emphasis on reading and writing associated with being a native Spanish speaker. Students will study Spanish literature and authors in order to increase their knowledge and awareness of the culture associated with the Spanish-speaking world. Successful completion of this course will prepare students for AP Spanish Language and Culture.

Pre AP Spanish lll H

Course Description:	This is an advanced intermediate course which will expand communicative skills and grammatical concepts learned in previous levels in all four-language skills: listening, reading, writing, and speaking. The course will build on the knowledge, skills, and experiences bilingual students and traditional world language students bring to the classroom. The chosen thematic units will highlight hispanic literature and culture. This course will be conducted almost exclusively in Spanish.

AP Spanish Language and Culture

Course Description:	The AP program in Spanish language is intended for those who have chosen to continue to develop their proficiency in all four-language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Students who enroll should have a basic knowledge of the language, a good command of Spanish grammar and vocabulary, and have competence in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
