Description: This introductory course inspires students to think more creatively and improve his/her communication. Through a series of projects in various media students will be introduced to the elements and principles of visual art, such as line, shape/form, space, balance and emphasis. Students will develop art vocabulary in conjunction with the development of skills that will serve as the foundation for more complex works. Students will learn art techniques that will help develop skills to support creative expression as they explore the connections and application to visual arts. The importance of visual art in world culture is the foundation for exploring diverse topics in the history of art.

Description: Ceramics I P is a beginning course designed to teach students the nature of clay, basic hand building techniques of pinch coil and slab, basic ceramic sculpture construction, and glazes and glazing. Emphasis will be placed on craftsmanship and ceramic design. Notebook and/or sketchbook required.

Course Description: |
This course trains students in concepts and principles used in film and video production "from script to screen". The course exposes students to the basics of visual storytelling through the creation of storyboards, script writing, various shot types, camera movements, lighting, audio and techniques of editing. Emphasis is placed on the conceptualization, planning and execution of a film as well as the creative aspects of film production and film analysis. In addition, students will have opportunities to learn the skills necessary for jobs within the industry, such as director, editor, cinematographer, sound designer, screenwriter and others.

Advanced Graphic Design P is designed to be a career preparation class in which the student will develop a professional portfolio. The student will work with professional state of the art/industry multimedia software to develop projects for self and local businesses. In addition, the student will learn how to develop, create, revise, and present their work, as a working graphic designer would do.
