Admissions Testing


On Monday, March 19, Morro Bay High School will be administering the PSAT 10 for all 10th graders and the PSAT 8/9 for all 9th graders who would like to take the Practice SAT. The cost of the PSAT 10 is $26 and the PSAT 8/9 is $20. Students can sign up either in the ASB Bookkeeping Office or online at the MBHS Webstore. The last day to sign up is January 24.

Testing will begin at 8:00am on March 19 and will take approximately 3 hours.

What tests should a student be taking to prepare for college admissions to a 4 year university?

Junior year take the PSAT in October to prepare for the SAT. Sign-up in our counseling secretaries office starting late September beginning of October. Students will take the test at MBHS.

Spring of junior year students should be registering either for the SAT or ACT. A student may register for both or one type of test.

Note: If you do not enter the MBHS School Code then we will not receive a copy of your test scores. See directions below for sending test scores to colleges. 

College Examination Requirements:

UC = ACT or SAT + writing

CSU = ACT or SAT without writing

Private Universities = It is advised to refer to the university website to view testing requirements.
